1. ∆AEB is similar to ∆ADC

L EAB = L DAC

L AEB = L ADC

L ABE = L ADC

2. AE/AD = AB/AC = EB/DC

=> 8/(8+5) = 6.5/AC

8/13 = 6.5/AC

8AC = 13×6.5

AC = 84.5/8

AC = 10.5625

BC = AC -AB

= 10.5625 - 6.5

BC = 4.0625
