Donnie bought 30 baseball caps that cost $225.00 before tax. Each of the baseball caps was of equal price. How much would 10 of these caps cost with a 9.5% tax?

Answer: $82.13

- 225 divided by 30 is 7.5 (7.5 is the cost of each cap)

- 10 times 7.5 is 75 (cost of 10 caps)

-take 9.5% and put the decimal point back 2 places to change it from a percent to a decimal (0.095)

- multiply 75 and 0.095 to get 7.125 (cost of tax)

- add 75 and 7.125 (82.125) then round to get 82.13
