The Spanish Club is going on a trip to Spain over Spring Break so they are planning a fund-raiser. They will sell pralines at lunch on Wednesdays. They found a restaurant that will charge them $0.25 for each praline. The club will spend $25 for supplies. They will sell the pralines for $0.50 each. What is the minimum number of pralines they will need to sell before they begin to make a profit?

Answer:

50 pralines needs to be sold before they begin to make a profit.

Explanation:

Restaurant charging $0.25

Cost for Supplies = $25

Total number of pralines they can buy (25/0.25) = 100

Selling Price for pralines at the fund raiser = 0.50

Profit Making will start at (25/0.50) = 50 pralines
