PLease help I have no idea how to this

Write an equation passing through the point (-3,-2) parallel to y=3x+1 in standard form. Please show your work. You can type in your steps or work it out on a separate sheet of paper and email me a picture.

y = 3x + 7

Explanation:

Parallel lines have the same slope, so you can write the equation y = 3x + b and you have to figure out what b is.

plug in x = -3 and y = -2 into the equation y = 3x + b:

-2 = 3 * -3 + b

-2 = -9 + b

7 = b

So the equation is y = 3x + 7
