Explanation:

To find the area of one the the trapezoid, you would multiple both side, Example: 7.2×6.1 = 43.92. Then you would divided that by 2 because it's a triangle. Example: 43.92÷2=21.96

They already split the shape into shaded areas, but remember for the triangles DIVIDE BY TWO AT THE END as it is half of a square. so you get (From left to right) 12.81 for left triangle, 21.96 for right triangle. Add them together to get total area. *My fault didn't see that its only the shaded regions*
