1.Because Bilbo is too scared to go on and told the dragon their plan in hopes that
he would free them
/2.He stole a gold cup so now Smaug is angry and knows there is a thief,
3.Because Bilbo got scared and told Smaug where the dwarves are hiding.
4. Because he tried to keep all the treasure for himself and now the dragon is mad.
