Application - Imagine a car on a perfectly smooth, level surface with the windows
blacked out (so that you cannot see outside).
a. How do you tell when the car starts moving?
You can tell when the car starts moving because the force from the car moving
pushes you against your seat.
b. Could you tell whether the car was at rest or moving at a constant speed? Why
or why not?
I could tell the car was at rest because there was no force acting upon me so the
car wasn't moving, I couldn't tell if the car was moving at a constant speed
because you if the car was already moving at a constant speed, there is no net
force acting on it, therefore I wouldn't feel any force pushing me against my seat,
and without other tools like sight it would be impossible..
