So let's just move some parts of the equation around to match this form.

First move y to the other side of the equation by subtracting y from both sides.

y=-3x-6

y - y = -3x -6 - y

0 = -3x -6 - y

Now move the 6 to the other side of the equation by adding 6 to both sides.

6 = -3x - 6 - y + 6

6 = -3x -y
