The most effective course of action to control the mosquito populations and minimize exposure to the Zika virus would be to conduct targeted mosquito control efforts in areas with the highest mosquito populations, as well as to educate residents on mosquito bite prevention strategies. Additionally, if resources permit, it would be beneficial to provide mosquito repellents and mosquito netting to residents and encourage their use. It would also be helpful to provide mosquito testing kits to residents and urge them to get tested if they are experiencing symptoms of the Zika virus. Together, these measures can help reduce the risk of Zika infection for the residents of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
