Answer:
we know that .5 or 0.5 is = 1/2
therefore 8.5 in fraction = 8 1/2
by multiplying the denominator of the fraction(2) by the whole number(8) and adding the numerator(1)
we have 17 we then divide by the denominator of the fraction (2) we have: 17/2
