Answer:

A necklace contains green, red, blue and pink beads in a ratio of 2:4:3:1.

sum of ratios: 2+4+3+1=10

the ratio of blue pearls = 3/10

There are 12 blue beads.

How many pearls are there in total on the necklace?

3/10 = 12

(10*12)/3 = 40

there are 40 pearls on the necklace

Answer:

total of 40 beads

Explanation:

given there are 12 blue beads , which relates to the 3 part of the ratio.

divide 12 by 3 to find the value of one part of the ratio

12 ÷ 3 = 4 beads ← value of 1 part of the ratio , then

2 parts = 2 × 4 = 8 ← number of green beads

4 parts = 4 × 4 = 16 ← number of red beads

3 parts = 3 × 4 = 12 ← number of green beads

1 part = 1 × 4 = 4 ← number of pink beads

then total number of beads = 8 + 16 + 12 + 4 = 40
