Question 11 is correct. I'll focus on question 10.

The point marked on the diagram is (-1,6). The y intercept is (0,7)

To go from (-1,6) to (0,7), we do these two things

  • Go up 1
  • Go right 1

The motion "up 1, right 1" leads to a slope of:

slope = rise/run = 1/1 = 1

The slope is 1. This is the answer to question 10.

------------

Another approach is to use the slope formula.

(x_1,y_1) = (-1,6) \text{ and } (x_2,y_2) = (0,7)\\\\m = \text{slope} = \frac{\text{rise}}{\text{run}} = \frac{\text{change in y}}{\text{change in x}}\\\\m = \frac{\text{y}_(2) - \text{y}_(1)}{\text{x}_(2) - \text{x}_(1)}\\\\m = (7 - 6)/(0 - (-1))\\\\m = (7 - 6)/(0 + 1)\\\\m = (1)/(1)\\\\m = 1\\\\

It's possible to use other points on the diagonal line.
