To solve with algebra, you must isolate x on one side of the equation. You have been given the equation:

x + 2= 3x - 4

Solve for x!

x = 3x - 6
-2x = -6
x =3

To solve by graphing, simply graph the two equations and see where they intersect. The picture I attached shows that the two lines intersect at point ( 3, 5)

C) The answers of parts a and b are related as they show where they intersect. In part a, your answer was x = 3. 3 was the x coordinate for the solution in part b. They are related in this way.
