Propose a reason for a frog being lighter on the ventral side and darker on the dorsal side.

It’s likely related to camouflage and predator avoidance. The lighter the ventral side, it can help the frog blend in with brighter sky or water. The darker the dorsal side, the bigger ability it will have to blend amongst dark shadows
