Answer:

105 cm^2

Explanation:

we have a rectangle and a right triangle, we find CD by subtracting 6 cm from BD (11 - 6 = 5CM) we find the base of the triangle (EC) by subtracting EF from AB ( 15 - 9 = 6).

Now we find the area of the triangle with the formula 1/2bxh (1/2 x 6 x 5 = 15cm^2), then we find the area of the rectangle, A = W x L (15 x 6 = 90cm ^2 ), finally we add the two areas ( 15 + 90 = 105 cm^2)

Answer:

  • 105 cm^2

Explanation:

From the given figure we can see the shape consist of 2 shapes i.e a rectangle and a triangle.

To calculate the area of the whole shape, Firstly we need to find the area of both the shapes seperately.

Area of Shape 1 (Rectangle) :

  • Area = Length × width

Here, Length is 15 cm and width is 6 cm.

  • 15 × 6
  • 90 cm^2

Area of Shape 2 (Triangle) :

  • Area = ½ × Base × height

Base is (15 - 9) = 6 cm and Height is (11 - 6) = 5 cm

  • ½ × 6 × 5
  • 3 × 5
  • 15 cm^2

Total area of the shape = Area of Rectangle + Area of triangle.

Total area of the shape = 90 + 15

Total area of the shape = 105 cm^2
