a) 1.58

b) 15.9

You can also leave it on the form of fraction.

With the values of x and y, I will evaluate the little expressions, which, in this case, are xy and x/y.

So I'll start with the first one, xy. The question clearly states that x = 7/3 and y = 6/19, so I stick this into the expression, and it gives me

(7)/(3) \cdot(6)/(19)

7 is hereupon multiplied by 6, and 3 is hereupon multiplied by 19:

(7\cdot6)/(3\cdot19)

(42)/(57)

Divide by 3:
(42/ 3)/(57 / 3) =(14)/(19)

This cannot be simplified further, so we leave the answer as it is (14/19)

In the second one, x/y, we do the same thing, only this time, I am going to divide:

(7)/(3) /(6)/(19)

Rewrite this as

(7)/(3) \cdot(19)/(6)

Multiply:

(7\cdot19)/(3\cdot6)

(133)/(18)

The answer to xy is 14/19; the answer to x/y is 133/18.
