these equations represent functions p and q: p(x) = -2x+6 and q(x) = -2/3x + 1. the graph (p-q) (x) is shown. plot a point at the ordered pair that represents (p-q)(-3) on the graph of the combined function.

Answer:

The ordered pair that represents (p-q)(-3) is (-3,9)

You have to plot the point (-3,9) on the graph

Explanation:

p(x) = -2x + 6,

q(x) = -(2/3)x + 1,

The composition p-q is,

(p-q)(x) = p(x) - q(x) = -2x+6 - (-(2/3)x + 1)

(p-q)(x) = -2x + 6 + (2/3)x - 1

(p-q)(x) = -(4/3)x + 5

Now, for x = -3, we get,

(p-q)(-3) = (-4/3)(-3) + 5

(p-q)(-3) = (4 + 5

(p-q)(-3) = 9

hence the ordered pair is,

(-3,9)
