p2 = (-9 , -3)

Explanation:

let p2 be (a , b)

given :

p1(-1 , 7) = (x1 , y1)

p2(a , b) = (x2 , y2)

using midpoint formula:

midpoint = (x1 + x2/2 , y1 + y2/2)

(-5 , 2) = (-1 + a/2 , 7 + b/2)

Now , compare corresponding elements

-5 = -1 + a/2

-5*2 = -1 + a

-10 = -1 + a

-10 + 1 = a

-9 = a

2 = 7 + b/2

2*2 = 7 + b

4 = 7 + b

4 - 7 = b

-3 = b

therefore p2 = (-9 , -3)
