Answer:

37/60

Explanation:

White Flowers = 5

Red Flowers = x

Yellow Flowers = 2x+1

Total No of Flowers = 5+x+2x+1 = 3x+6

Pr(White) = No of White Flowers / Total No of flowers

(1)/(12) = (5)/(3 x + 6) \\ 3x + 6 = 60 \\ 3x = 54 \\ x = 18

  • White Flowers = 5
  • Red Flowers = 18
  • Yellow Flowers = 37
  • Total No of Flowers = 60

Therefore, Pr(Yellow Flowers) = 37/60

Answer:

5/12

Explanation:

Total 12 flowers

5 are white

12-5=7

red + yellow = 7

x+2x+1 = 7

3x+1=7

3x=6

x=2

white : 5

red : 2

yellow : 5

12 flowers in total, 5 yellow flowers, probability that yellow is picked is 5/12
