To answer that you would take s(5) - s(1)
s(1) = 1^2 + 5(1) = 1 + 5 = 6 (m/s)
s(5) = 5^2 + 5(5) = 25 + 25 = 50 (m/s)
Therefore the distance covered would be:
50 - 6 = 44m/s
The distance in the interval between 1 second and 5 seconds where the distance covered by an object is s(t) = t^2 + 5t is 44m/s
