(5x + 2y) - (3x + 2y) = 16 - 8
2x= 8
x=1
Substituting x = 4 in the first equation:
5X + 2v = 16
5(4) + 2y = 16
20 + 2V = 16
2V =-4
V =-2
Y= -2.

Subtracting the second equation from the first equation, we get:

(5x + 2y) - (3x + 2y) = 16 - 8

2x = 8

x = 4

Substituting x = 4 in the first equation:

5x + 2y = 16

5(4) + 2y = 16

20 + 2y = 16

2y = -4

y = -2

Therefore, y equals -2.
