Which equation best represents the following: In a class of 46 students, there are 10 more girls than boys?

Let boys =b

and girls =g

First,

46-10 = 36

36 /2 =18

therefore, 18g and 18b but there are 10 more girls than boys

so for g,

= 18 +10

= 28g

so .. the equation is:

28g + 18b = 46
