Find the surface area of a square pyramid with side length 2 cm and slant height 5 cm.

24 cm²

Explanation:

area of square base = 2 X 2 = 4cm²

area of a triangle = 0.5 X width X vertical height

area of one slanted side = 0.5 X 2 X 5 = 5

there are 4 sides to square pyramid. so area of 4 slanted sides = 4 (5)

= 20cm²

total surface area = 4 slanted sides + base

= (20 + 4)cm²

= 24cm²
