Answer: The Monroe Doctrine allowed the US to keep their distance from European affairs. It explained that any efforts to colonize would be met with force, and the US would stay out of European affairs as long as Europeans stayed out of the Western Hemisphere. Therefore, the Monroe Doctrine had a positive impact on early foreign policy because it helped the US defend themselves as a country.
