Chromosome- is a DNA-containing structure that carries genetic material from one generation to the next

DNA-deoxyribonucleic acid

double helix- is the shape of DNA it's a ladder twisted in on itself

mRNA- takes the genetic information from the nucleus to the ribosomes

Nucleotide- Repeating subunits that compose DNA. They are made up of 3 parts Phosepahtate, Sugar, and a nitrogenous base.

RNA- ribonucleic acid

Transcription- the first step in the central dogma. involves the synthesis of mRNA from DNA. this occurs in the nucleus of the cell. ( the process of assembling a protein from RNA)

Translation- Where the mRNA code is read to make proteins
