What is 6 divided by 2 (1+2)

This could also be written as 6 / [2(1+2)]. This sounds like a better match to the questions wording because it has 6 being divided by the entire phrase, but correct me if I’m wrong.
If it is in fact like this, and 6 is being divided by the entire phrase 2(1+2), then it should be done like this:
First 1+2 in the parentheses should be simplified to 3.
Then the resulting 2(3) in the brackets (functioning as parentheses) should be simplified to 6.
Then 6/6 should be simplified to 1.
The other responder is correct if the problem is meant that way, I’m correct if it’s this way. Hope this helps

We divided first

3 ( 1 +2)

Then we do the 1+2 second because they have ( )
