Although survivors felt strongly that the Holocaust be remembered so that it would not be repeated, they

were reluctant to share their experiences with their children. In fact, several of the adult children of study
participants asked the researchers for a copy of their parents' interview so that they could learn more
about their parents' Holocaust experience.
Explain why survivors of the Holocaust would want the world to know about what they
endured during the Holocaust, but not their children? Explain.

They didn’t want their children to have to re-live (in a way) the trauma that they endured. However, they wanted the public to know to spread awareness and prevent it from happening again.
