Answer: c) y=-x+7

Explanation:

The first step is finding the slope of the line which is the m in y=mx+b

this is done with the equation

y2-y1 / x2-x1

the y and x values will come from the two coordinates

(5,2) -> 5 = x1, 2=y1

(10, -3) -> 10=x2, -3=y2

now input the values

-3 - 2 / 10 -5 = -5/5 = -1

so now you have the m, you can choose a coordinate to find b. i'll choose (5, 2) because the values are easier to work with.

remembering that 5 is x and 2 is y, input it into y=mx + b

so 2= -1(5) +b = 2 = -5 + b

move the -5 to the left in order to isolate b. remember that when you move a number to another side of the equation, its value changes, so now it's plus 5 instead of minus 5.

add the 2 and 5 and voila, b=7

input the y-intercept or b value into your equation and your final answer is

y = -x + 7
