DNA ligase is involved in DNA repair, DNA replication. They are also involved in crossover in meiosis in eukaryotes and in recombination processes in mammals that ensure the diversity of the immune system. DNA ligase enzyme is used in recombinant DNA applications in molecular biology laboratories.
