For graphing, just look at the y-intercept, in the equation y = mx + b.

b is the y-intercept, so, for you plot the y-intercpet on the y-axis. You look at m, which is the slope. For positive, you go up how many ever it says in the numerator and then to the right how many ever it says in the denominator. For a negative you do the same thing except you go down and then to the right, or up and to the left. For positive there is only up and then to the right. I hope this answers your question.
