To balance a chemical equation, you have to keep in mind these steps:
- Write down the correct formulae of reactants and products.
- Find out which element has maximum number of atoms. Then balance that element on the other side.
- Now, balance other elements accordingly. For doing it easily, you can make two columns and do LHS and RHS.
- Verify that the number of atoms of each element is balanced in the final equation.
- Write the states of the compounds only if you know them.
