Combine like terms-
3x -y + 2y - x
3x 1y-x

Multiply by 1-
3x + 1y - x
3x + y - x

Combine like terms-
3x + y -x

2x + y

Solution/Answer-
2x + y

Answer:

3x - y + 2y - x

First, you have to add/subtract together similar variables.

So 3x - 1x= 2x

and

2y - 1y= 1y

Now you put them back together: 2x - 1y

or

2x - y
