we know the inner rectangle, the pool, but not the outer rectangle, the patio.

to find the outer rectangle, add 10 twice to each dimenision

so add 20

the patio AND the pool 28 by 32 feet

area of the patio is the total area minus pool

(28 * 32) - (8 * 12) = 800 sqft
