Can someone please explain how to do this? I am littery crying because I can not understand this lesson and I have over 40 assignments to finish today!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so surface area is basically just the area of all the faces.

Given all the dimensions of the prism we can find all the areas.

There are two faces that are 2 by 4 so they have area 8 (2*4).

Similarly, two faces have area 5*2 = 10 and two faces have area 5*4 = 20.

Adding all these up we have 8*2 + 10*2 + 20*2 = 16+20+40 = 76 sq yds

This is the surface area.
