The image shown above is netholic art, a Plastered (clay-made) skull. In Jericho, people used to bury the deceased beneath their homes. To create incredibly lifelike representations of their deceased family members, they had a slightly morbid tradition of removing the skulls and plastering them. The plaster was tinted to resemble real flesh, and seashell fragments were used to create the eyes. The heads may have served as the focal points of ancestor worship.
