The term used when mixing 2 or more types of drugs is the Synergistic effect, which leads to a greater combined effect of the drugs than individually.

When you mix 2 or more types of drugs, it is called the Synergistic effect. This occurs when the combined effect of the drugs is greater than the sum of their individual effects. A prime example of this is the combination of trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole which, when combined, are more effective than either drug alone. This concept also extends to hormones, such as FSH and estrogens, which can amplify each other's effects on the maturation of female ova (egg cells).

In summary, drugs can interact in various ways and when the interaction results in an amplified effect it is known as a synergistic interaction. In contrast, drugs with opposing effects exhibit an antagonistic interaction.
