Explanation:

You start with x+1=7x-5

Basically you want all the x's on one side and all the constants on the other

(x+1)+5=(7x-5)+5, to get rid of the 5 on the right side

(x+6)-x=7x-x, to get rid of the x on the left side

We are now left with 6x=6

No we simplify, 6x/6=6/6

Now we have x=1, which is the answer

I hope this made sense.

Answer:

x= 1.

Explanation:

1. Write the expression.

(x+1)=(7x-5)\\ \\x+1=7x-5

2. Subtract "1" from both sides of the equation.

x+1-1=7x-5-1\\ \\x=7x-6

3. Subtract "7x" from both sides of the equation.

x-7x=7x-6-7x\\ \\-6x=-6

4. Divide both sides by "-6".

(-6x)/(-6) =(-6)/(-6) \\ \\x=1

5. Verify.

(1)+1=7(1)-5\\ \\2=7-5\\ \\2=2

That's correct!

6. Conclude.

x= 1.
