The calculated perimeter of the new television is 185.22 inches

How to determine the perimeter of the new television.

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

Old TV

Diagonal = 32 inches

Perimeter = 87.16 inches

New TV

Diagonal = 68 inches

Perimeter = ? inches

Using the proportional ratio, we have

Ratio = Diagonal : Perimeter

Substitute the known values into the equation

32 : 87.16 = 68 : Perimeter of new

Express as fractions

87.16/32 = Perimeter of new/68

So, we have

Perimeter of new = 68 * 87.16/32

Evaluate

Perimeter of new = 185.22 inches

Hence, the perimeter of the new television is 185.22 inches
