Move 3.5 units to the left on the x-axis and 2.75 units down on the y-axis. Mark the intersection as the point required.

How to locate a point on the Cartesian coordinates plane.

Given

(-3 1/2, -2 3/4)

This equivalent to

-3 1/2 = -3.5

-2 3/4 = -2.75

The point becomes (-3.5, -2.75)

Where

x coordinate = -3.5

y coordinate = -2.75

On the Cartesian coordinates plane locate -3.5 on the negative x-axis and -2.75 on the negative y-axis follow the points vertically and horizontally until the intersect. Mark the point of intersection as (-3.5, -2.75). The point of intersection is the required point to be plotted.

The point is located in the third quadrant.
