This is a terra-cotta figure from ancient Egypt. It was carved shortly after Alexander’s death. One of Alexander’s generals, Ptolemy, was ruling Egypt at the time.
The figure uses a realistic style. Although this is an Egyptian statue, it shows the Greek goddess Aphrodite. She is the Greek goddess of love.
