Civil disobedience, nonviolent resistance, marches, protests, boycotts, "freedom rides," and rallies garnered national attention as newspaper, radio, and television reporters and cameramen covered the movement to eradicate racial inequality.

Southerners would suffer financially if African Americans fled in large numbers. The consequences on the southern economy if these newly emancipated African Americans leave. They would not make more money if they left the south since they are no longer working for them.

some of the most pressing issues facing African Americans today are violence,crime,economic issues,housing,racism and pay differences.
