What is the number that has a value 10 times the value of 0.009? Please Explain.

From what I'm understanding you have to use powers of 10. Here's how they work:

All you do is move the decimal point, I know that may sound weird but let me explain.

When we are working with powers of 10 you just multiply the number by 10.

10 x 0.009

Now instead of having to type that into a calculator, or working it out, you can just move the decimal point to the right or the left.

Here's how I remember it:

Multiplying- move it to the right so the number can get bigger

Dividing- move it to the left so the number gets smaller

The number of zeros (0) you have after the one determines how many times you move the decimal point.

100- move the decimal point twice

100000- move the decimal point 5 times

In this case you are multiplying and moving the decimal point to the right once. There is one zero in the number and the problem asks you to multiply.

0.009

= 0.09

You move the decimal point over once.
