He goes to the river to get the water that reverses the touch after realizing that what he had wished for was wrong and that he needs to fix it. He finds the source of the problem and eliminates it. After all the action has taken place, it is time for the conclusion. Marygold regains consciousness. Midas feels better now. As a further precaution, he tries to avoid it in the future. This experience has taught him to be more appreciative of what he already has and to be wary of wishing for the things he does not already have. He tells this story to his other children so that they, too, can learn from it.
