A conductor is mapping a trip and records the distance the train travels

over certain time intervals.
Time (hours)
0.5
1.5
Distance (miles)
22.5
67.5

Assuming that the train travels at a constant speed, how far will the train travel
in 7 hours?

Answer:

315 miles

Explanation:

y = distance

x = time

y = 45x

y = 45(7)

y = 315

You can find the rate by y/x

22.5/.5 = 45

67.5/1.5 = 45
