1. The perimeter of a rectangle is

P = 2w + 21, where w is the width of the
rectangle and t is the length of the rectangle.

We are asked to find the width of the rectangle. In the equation “w” is the width of the rectangle, so all we have to do is isolate it .

p=2w+21

1) subtract 21

p-21=2w

2)divide by 2

p-21/2=w

Therefore, the width of the rectangle, in the form of an equation is w=p-21/2

Answer:

w = ( p-2

l

) / 2

Explanation:

Switch sides:

2w + 2l = p

Move 2l to the right side:

2w = p - 2l

Divide both sides by 2:

w = ( p-2

l

) / 2
