Answer: 9.5%

Explanation: Given that it's X linked you know a male will only carry one affected chromosome. The frequency is 0.05. make the trait q, as it's the recessive trait, but because the male only carries one X chromosome there's no need to root it first. Solve for p using p+q=1 (ans: 0.95). A female carrier is heterozygous, so solve for 2pq to get 9.5%.
