a(2,-7), b(-3,-6), and c(-4,2)are the vertices of ABC. if it is reflected under the reflection about x-axis and then about y-axis, find the coordinates of vertices od A"B"C".

Answer is A” (-2, 7) B” (3, 6) C” (4, -2)

Step by step

The reflection of point (x, y) across the x-axis is (x, -y) so

A (2, -7) ➡️ A’ (2, 7)

B (-3, -6) ➡️ B’ (-3, 6)

C (-4, 2)➡️ C’ (-4, -2)

Then the rule for a reflection over the y -axis is (x,y)→(−x,y)

A’ (2, 7) ➡️ A” (-2, 7)

B’ (-3, 6) ➡️ B” (3, 6)

C’ (-4, -2) ➡️ C” (4, -2)

Problem solved!
