What does the electoral college do
The Electoral College is a way that the President and Vice President of the US are Chosen by selected people. Instead of a direct popular vote, each state is allocated a certain number of electors based on its representation in Congress (number of senators + representatives).
When citizens vote in a presidential election, they're actually voting for a slate of electors chosen by the political parties. These selected people would cast their votes to ensure who would be the leader of the nation.
