The parabola gets vertically compressed

Explanation:

Adding a number greater than one in front of coefficient compresses the graph, which basically makes the graph skinnier.

For ex:

normally for x^2, when x=1 , y=1

for 3x^2 when x=1 y=3

parabola gets skinny
