Answer:

h(-2) = 7

h(0) = -1

h(5) = 2

Explanation:

This is just a matter of plugging in numbers for x when they apply.

For h(-2), the first equation, or -1/2x - 1 can't apply, because the symbol doesn't apply. It does apply to the second one, which is (x - 1)^2 - 2, as it says x is greater than or equal to. Now we just have to plug it in.

(-2 - 1)^2 - 2 = 7

So h(-2) = 7

For h(0), it works for the same equation.

(0 - 1)^2 - 2

(-1)^2 - 2

1 - 2 = -1

h(0) = -1

For h(5), it applies to the last equation.

y = 2

So h(5) = 2
